I think it’s really funny when a movie comes along and all the critics and fan reviews call it Oscar-bait, as in a movie specifically made to garner awards. In the relatively recent past, it’s been said that if an actor takes a role that requires a major physical transformation of requires them to portray a character who is fundamentally different from themselves, particularly if the character has a disability of some description. While many movies of this type are good and inspiring, some… aren’t.
