It has been 22 years since the tragedy of 9/11. I can’t believe it has been that long. I know for the people that were alive when it happen, it still is very vivid. I don’t have the best memory, but I can remember some of that day.
I was working at a daycare center in Frederick, Maryland near Fort Detrick. I taught 4 years old. Now, I work with 4 years old, well just Crazy Bob lol
A lot of the children in the daycare had parents that worked on Fort Detrick. When things started happening in New York, we were slowing getting word because parents were coming in to get their kids. Then when the attack on the Pentagon happened, we all had mixed feelings. Safe and not safe because we were by Fort Detrick, but also we were by Fort Detrick! Then they were starting to lock down the base and I’m doing circle time trying to read a book to the kids.
Plus, one of our teachers’ father worked at the Pentagon. Here she had to make sure the children didn’t realize the severity that was happening in the world while her world was upside down not knowing if her father was ok.
Never Forget!
